The Miami Dolphins have dealt wide receiver Davone Bess to the Cleveland Browns.

The deal was consummated Friday on the second evening of the NFL Draft.

Along with Bess, the Dolphins dealt fourth and seventh-round draft choices to the Browns for fourth and fifth-round selections for this year's draft.

Bess had spent the first five years of his NFL career with the Dolphins. He had 61 catches for 778 yards and a touchdown last season. Over his career, he has 321 receptions for 3,447 yards and 12 touchdowns.

"Davone was a consummate professional on the field and a model representative of the team off it through all of his charitable activities," Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland said. "He joined the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent and worked hard to become one of the team's most popular and respected players. We want to wish him the best of luck with the Browns."

The Dolphins dealt Bess after signing Mike Wallace and Brandon Gibson through free agency.
