BUSCH BEST AGAIN — Kyle Busch won Denny Hamlin’s Short Track Showdown Late Model charity race at Richmond International Raceway on Thursday night. It was the third time in six years that Busch won the event, which benefits the Denny Hamlin Foundation. David Ragan finished second, followed by Ben Rhodes, Ronnie Bassett Jr. and Garrett Campbell.

“Late Models is what I grew up in and it’s fun to sit in that seat,” Busch said after the race.

Hamlin, who grew up 15 miles from RIR, was forced to sit out the race as he recovers from a back injury.

TUNE IN TO SPEED — The NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series take to the 0.75-mile Richmond International Raceway short track this weekend.
