A day after clinching a sixth consecutive playoff berth, the Washington Capitals have re-signed forwards Eric Fehr and Aaron Volpatti.
Fehr, a right wing, got a $3 million, two-year deal. Volpatti, a left wing, will make $1.15 million over his two-year contract. Both agreements were announced Wednesday.
The 27-year-old Fehr's split is $1.4 million next season, and $1.6 million in 2014-15. He has eight goals and eight assists this season, and leads the Southeast Division champions with a plus-14 rating.
The 28-year-old Volpatti makes $550,000 in 2013-14, and $600,000 in 2014-15. He was claimed off waivers in February and has one goal, one assist and 33 penalty minutes in 31 games with Vancouver and Washington this season.
