The Cincinnati Bengals have officially signed free agent James Harrison, the five-time Pro Bowl linebacker from the rival Pittsburgh Steelers.

The 6-foot, 242-pound Kent State alum will be in his 10th NFL season. The 34-year-old Harrison has helped the Steelers win two Super Bowls and joins a team looking for its first playoff victory since 1990.

The Bengals didn't release terms in Tuesday's announcement, but Harrison's agent said last week he had agreed to a two-year deal.

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis says Harrison brings veteran help to a part of the defense the team had targeted for improvement. Cincinnati now has the major piece in place before the draft opens Thursday.
