This Week in Golf -- April 25 through April 28

PGA TOUR - ZURICH CLASSIC OF NEW ORLEANS, TPC Louisiana, Avondale, LA - The PGA Tour makes it's lone stop of the season in the state of Louisiana this week for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans at TPC Louisiana.

Last year, Jason Dufner 2-putted for birdie on the second playoff hole to defeat Ernie Els and earn his first PGA Tour win.

The duo ended 72 holes at 19-under-par 269.

Luke Donald finished in third at 17-under to reclaim the top spot in the world rankings from Rory McIlroy.

Dufner will return in an effort to become the fifth man to win back-to-back in New Orleans, and will be joined by five other players ranked inside the top 25 -- No. 4 Justin Rose, No. 13 Keegan Bradley, No. 18 Bubba Watson, No. 23 Nick Watney and 24th-ranked Ernie Els.

Fourteen-year-old Tianlang Guan, who became the youngest player to appear and make the cut at the Masters two weeks ago, will also be in the field due to a sponsor exemption.

Golf Channel has coverage the first two days and early on the weekend before handing off to CBS for Saturday's and Sunday's afternoon coverage.

The PGA Tour heads to North Carolina next week for the Wells Fargo Championship, which Rickie Fowler won in a playoff over D.A. Points and Rory McIlroy last year.

BALLANTINE'S CHAMPIONSHIP, Blackstone Golf Course, Seoul,South Korea - The European Tour heads to South Korea this week for the Ballantine's Championship.

Bernd Wiesberger carded a 4-under 68 during the final round to cruise to his first European Tour victory at this event last year.

Wiesberger, who held the lead at the conclusion of the second and third rounds, held a 5-stroke advantage at the start of Sunday's round and was not threatened as he finished at 18-under-par 270.

Richie Ramsay finished in second at 13-under.

Six of the European Tour's winners this season will be in the field this week, including Louis Oosthuizen, Stephen Gallacher, Scott Jamieson, Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Raphael Jacquelin.

Jacquelin is coming off his record-tying nine-hole playoff victory over Maximilian Kieffer and Felipe Aguilar at the Open de Espana last week.

Y.E. Yang, Kyung-Tae Kim and Bae Sang-Moon Bae join them in the field and will try to become the first Korean player to win the Ballantines Championship.

Americans Dustin Johnson and Zach Johnson have pulled out of the field due to the "perceived unrest on the Korean Peninsula", tournament officials announced Monday.

Golf channel will have coverage of all four rounds.

Next week the European Tour heads to Chinas for the China Open, which Branden Grace won last year for his third win of the season.

NORTH TEXAS LPGA SHOOTOUT, Irving, Texas - The LPGA Tour heads back to the mainland this week for the North Texas LPGA Shootout in Texas.

The inaugural event will be held at Las Colinas Country Club and will consist of a "shootout" format that includes two cuts.

The first cut will be made after the second round and will include the top 70 and ties, and the second cut will be made to the top 50 and ties at the end of the third round.

The field will include a few Texas-born players, including world No. 2 Stacy Lewis, Angela Stanford and Gerina Piller.

The Golf Channel will carry all four rounds.

The LPGA Tour heads Virginia next week for the Kingsmill Championship, where Jiyai Shin needed nine playoff holes to defeat Paula Creamer last year.

LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE LEGENDS OF GOLF, The Club at Savannah Harbor, Savannah, Georgia - The Champions Tour remains in Georgia this week for the Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf.

This event, which consists of two-man teams in a better-ball format, is the second oldest in senior golf. The 74-year-old Senior PGA Championship is the only event to have been played longer.

Last year, Michael Allen and David Frost combined for a 10-under 62 in the final round to win by a single stroke over the team of John Cook and Joey Sindelar.

Bernhard Langer, who is coming off a 3-stroke win at the inaugural Greater Gwinnett Championship last week, won this event with Tom Lehman in 2009 and the two are paired up again this year.

The field includes 44 players that have all won a major championship on the PGA Tour.

Golf Channel will handle the coverage on Friday and early Saturday before handing off to CBS for Saturday's and Sunday's afternoon coverage.

Next week the Champions Tour is in Texas for the Insperity Championship, where Fred Funk birdied four of the last five holes, including the 18th, to beat Lehman by one shot last year.

SOUTH GEORGIA CLASSIC, Kinderlou Forest Golf Club, Valdosta, Georgia - The Tour returns from a week absence this week for the South Georgia Classic.

Luke List rallied down the final stretch with an eagle at the 13th and a birdie at the 16th to grab a 2-stroke victory over Brian Stuard last year.

It was List's first career victory on the tour, but he will not be in the field this week as he earned his PGA Tour card.

All six of this season's winners -- Kevin Foley, Patrick Cantlay, Kevin Kisner, Edward Loar, Benjamin Alvarado and Alex Aragon -- are in the field, however.
