Friday's game between the Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals at Fenway Park was postponed to support the efforts of law enforcement officers engaging in a manhunt for the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings.
The first suspect, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, was confirmed dead early Friday morning, while his brother, Dzhokhar, remained at large until he was taken into custody Friday evening.
A makeup date for Friday's game has not yet been announced, but the Red Sox confirmed Saturday's game at 1:10 p.m. (ET) will go on as scheduled.
MBTA's entire network of commuter rail, bus, and subway services were shut down, while state authorities asked people who live in Watertown, Waltham, Newton, Belmont, Cambridge, and Allston-Brighton to stay home and for businesses in those cities and towns to remain closed.
