Cincinnati, OH – The Miami Marlins placed shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria on the 15-day disabled list prior to Thursday's game against the Cincinnati Reds.
Hechavarria, who is dealing with a right elbow contusion, is batting just .184 with one homer and three RBI in 14 games this season.
The Marlins also selected the contract of infielder Nick Green from Triple-A New Orleans and transferred pitcher Nathan Eovaldi to the 60-day disabled list.
Green was hitting .293 with one homer and four RBI in 11 games for New Orleans. He played in seven games for the Marlins last season.
