Angel Cabrera watched Adam Scott birdie the 18th hole at Augusta National, then stuffed his approach shot three feet from the hole.

Cabrera, the 2009 winner, rolled in his birdie effort to match Scott at 9- under-par 279 and send the 77th Masters to a playoff.

They will return to the 18th tee for extra golf. If the playoff isn't decided there, they will shift to the 10th. The pair will rotate those two holes until a winner is crowned.

Cabrera closed with a 2-under 70, while Scott's closing birdie gave him a 3- under 69 in the final round.

Jason Day carded a 2-under 70 to take third at 7-under-par 281.
