Marlins' Stanton day-to-day with left shoulder contusion

Miami Marlins right fielder Giancarlo Stanton has a left shoulder contusion and is listed as day-to-day.

Stanton was a late scratch from the Marlins' lineup prior to Friday's game against the Phillies. An MRI on Saturday revealed that Stanton only has a contusion.

Stanton is batting .167 (5-for-30) in nine games this season.

Also on Saturday, the Marlins signed pitcher David Aardsma to minor league deal. He will report to Triple-A New Orleans.

Aardsma, released by the Yankees earlier this month, made one appearance with the Yankees in 2012. Prior to that, he pitched in 53 games for the Mariners in 2010, going 0-6 with a 3.44 ERA.
