Kvitova to face Vinci in Katowice final

Top seeds Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic and Italy's Roberta Vinci were easy semifinal winners Saturday and will square off for the title at the inaugural Katowice Open.

The top-seeded Kvitova won the first 10 games of her semifinal against Romania's Alexandra Cadantu and went on to complete a 6-0, 6-4 victory after the second-seeded Vinci ripped off a 6-1, 6-0 trouncing of Germany's Annika Beck in a mere 49 minutes.

Kvitova will carry a 10-2 finals mark into Sunday's title match, including a title in Dubai back in February. The lefty has yet to be tested this week, winning each of her first four matches in straight sets.

Vinci went three sets in the second round against Kiki Bertens, but has since posted back-to-back 6-1, 6-0 routs. She is 7-1 all-time in WTA finals and will play a title match for the first time since winning last year's crown in Dallas prior to the U.S. Open.

Kvitova and Vinci have met just once previously. Kvitova notched a 6-3, 6-3 triumph in the third round at Wimbledon in 2011 en route to her first career Grand Slam title.

Sunday's champion will pocket $40,000.
