The top team in Spain will square off with the runaway Bundesliga champions as Barcelona was drawn with Bayern Munich in the semifinals of the Champions League on Friday.

Bayern clinched the Bundesliga in record fashion last weekend, and easily reached the last four of the Champions League with a 4-0 aggregate victory over Serie A leaders Juventus in the quarterfinals.

Barcelona's road to the semifinals has been much more difficult as the Spanish giants had to overcome a 2-0 first-leg deficit against AC Milan in the round of 16 before winning 4-2 on aggregate, while the club survived a tough battle with PSG in the quarterfinals by advancing on away goals.

The first leg between the two titans takes place in Munich on April 23 before the return leg at the Camp Nou on May 1.

Friday's draw also pitted Real Madrid against Borussia Dortmund in the other semifinal, which also features a matchup of a La Liga side against one from the Bundesliga.

Real Madrid secured a spot in the last eight by sneaking past Manchester United in the first knockout round and then holding off Galatasaray in the quarterfinals, while Dortmund reached the last four in dramatic fashion by scoring twice in stoppage time against Malaga in the second leg of the quarterfinals to advance on aggregate, 3-2.

The draw for the semifinals of the Europa League also took place on Friday and last year's Champions League winner, Chelsea, will meet Swiss side Basel, while Benfica tangles with Fenerbahce in the other semifinal.

Fenerbahce and Basel will host the first legs on April 25 before the return leg takes place on May 2.
