Jason Thompson tallied 20 points as three different players reached the 20-point plateau for the Sacramento Kings who coasted past the New Orleans Hornets, 121-110, Wednesday night at Sleep Train Arena.

Thompson connected on 8-of-12 shots from the floor and also had eight rebounds for the Kings, who ended a four-game losing streak.

John Salmons had a game-high 22 points and Marcus Thornton added 20 off the bench while nailing 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Isaiah Thomas also got in the mix with 15 points while DeMarcus Cousins put in 11 points before fouling out.

"It was a combination of deflections and defense that got us into transition," Kings coach Keith Smart said of his team which forced 17 turnovers and scored 23 points on the fast break. "When we've had our highest scoring game its been because of our defense."

Eric Gordon led all scorers with 23 points for New Orleans while also handing out seven assists. Anthony Davis recorded a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) as well for the Hornets, who have lost four of their last five games.

Robin Lopez and Brian Roberts each added 20 points for the Hornets while Xavier Henry chipped in 15. It was the second-straight game the Hornets had five players in double figures.

"I didn't think we played smart offensively. Our game plan was to take it to the basket," New Orleans coach Monty Williams said. "When you're playing on a back-to-back a young team has to understand you may not have your legs so you got to trust going to the basket, getting fouled and being able to set your defense."

The first quarter was largely a back-and-forth affair until Thornton was substituted for Salmons with 3:12 remaining the period. After the change the Kings rattled off an 10-0 run to go up 33-22.

The Hornets would keep the game within range, 35-28, as the quarter ended though with a trio of buckets from Henry, Ryan Anderson and Roberts.

The same could not be said for the second quarter when the Kings really began to blow the game open. They shot at a 59.1 percent clip in the quarter, and held the Hornets to just 26.1 percent, while ripping off a 17-2 run midway through the frame to take their largest lead of the half, 60-36.

The Hornets would cut into that deficit a bit before the break. After a 3- pointer from Thornton with 3.4 seconds left in the half, Gordon went the length of the floor and was fouled while dropping in a runner as time expired. Gordon hit the ensuing free-throw but the Hornets still trailed, 65-48, going into the locker room.

In the third quarter the Hornets were able to cut their deficit to 11 points three times, the last of which came on a driving layup from Greivis Vasquez with 5:28 remaining in the period. The Kings would go on an 11-2 run from there highlighted by 3-pointers from Salmons and Thomas to push their advantage to 90-69.

Entering the fourth quarter the Kings led 95-73. That lead would balloon to as many as 30 points and despite a late charge from the Hornets, it was more than enough.
