Anaheim, CA – Oakland Athletics infielder Scott Sizemore tore his left ACL and will miss the remainder of the season, the team announced on Wednesday.
Sizemore had torn the same ligament in spring training last year and missed the remainder of the season.
He suffered the injury after chasing a pop up on Tuesday night and limped off the field. It was originally ruled a sprain and Sizemore was placed on the 15- day disabled list, but an MRI on Wednesday showed a tear.
Over two games this season, Sizemore went just 1-for-6 with a double.
To fill the roster spot, Oakland called up utility player Andy Parrino from Triple-A Sacramento.
