Wagner football will play six home games and visit Syracuse while it tries to defend the Northeast Conference championship this season.

The Seahawks, coming off a 9-4 season in which they earned the first FCS playoff win in NEC history, will begin their season at home against Georgetown on Aug. 31.

They will host Bryant (Sept. 28), Robert Morris (Oct. 26) and Central Connecticut State (Nov. 2) in NEC games, and NCAA Division II Merrimack (Sept. 7) and former NEC member Monmouth (Nov. 9) in other non-conference games.

Wagner will play an FBS opponent for the second time when its goes to Syracuse on Sept. 14. Last season, coach Walt Hameline's squad fell at Florida Atlantic, 7-3, in its first game against an FBS opponent.

The Seahawks ended last season ranked 21st in The Sports Network FCS Top 25.
