More questions are percolating about how Rutgers handled the discovery of a former basketball coach who kicked players and used gay slurs as he yelled at them.

The university on Monday announced plans to hire an adviser to report on the behavior of fired coach Mike Rice and how the university handled it.

Rice was fired on April 3 after video of his behavior was made public.

Meanwhile, the school says it is reviewing practice video from all its other sports teams to see if there are similar problems elsewhere.

Lawmakers preparing for hearings on the issue have asked the university to provide communications about the hiring and firing of Rice.

Three other university employees have resigned in the scandal since Rice was fired.
