Martin Laird held off Rory McIlroy to win the Texas Open on Sunday, and that helped Laird soar in this week's world golf rankings.

Laird moved up 61 spots to No. 56 this week. The victory also earned him the last spot in the field at The Masters.

There was little movement at the top of the rankings. Tiger Woods stayed No. 1 and was again followed by McIlroy, Justin Rose, Luke Donald, Brandt Snedeker, Louis Oosthuizen, Adam Scott and Steve Stricker.

Phil Mickelson and Matt Kuchar exchanged places with Mickelson inching up to No. 9 and Kuchar dipping to 10th.

Keegan Bradley held steady at No. 11 and was trailed by Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood, Bubba Watson, Charl Schwartzel, Sergio Garcia, Graeme McDowell, Jason Dufner, Dustin Johnson and Webb Simpson.

Benjamin Alvarado won the Web.com event in Brazil and soared 259 places to No. 286, while Wade Ormsby won an Asian Tour event and now stands 324th in the rankings.
