Orioles' minor leaguer McCutchen suspended

Baltimore Orioles minor league pitcher Daniel McCutchen has been suspended 50 games for violating baseball's drug policy.

Major League Baseball said McCutchen tested positive for Methenolone, a performance-enhancing substance. The suspension begins immediately.

McCutchen is currently on the roster of Baltimore's Triple-A affiliate in Norfolk. He made seven appearances in spring training for the Orioles.

The 30-year-old right-hander had spent the past four seasons with Pittsburgh and has appeared in 108 major league games, including 15 starts. He owns a record of 8-11 with a 4.77 ERA at the big league level.
