Martin, Vickers see opportunities differently in replacing injured Hamlin in No. 11

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – The drivers replacing the injured Denny Hamlin view their opportunities differently.

Mark Martin hopes jumping in Hamlin's No. 11 Toyota at Martinsville Speedway this weekend provides a chance to change his career of disappointment on the shortest, trickiest oval in NASCAR's top series.

Hamlin has won four times in 15 starts at Martinsville. Martin has won twice in 48 starts.

Martin is one of the most respected racers in NASCAR, but says he has studied Hamlin's performances at Martinsville and had a long talk with him because "he's one of the masters at this race track."

Brian Vickers takes over next week for Joe Gibbs Racing and hopes it provides a chance to continue the success Hamlin has enjoyed and show he deserves a fulltime ride with a quality organization.
