Oakland, CA – The Oakland Athletics acquired catcher Stephen Vogt from the Tampa Bay Rays for a player to be named later or cash considerations on Friday.
Vogt has been optioned to Triple-A Sacramento and Oakland designated right- handed pitcher Dan Otero for assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man roster.
The 28-year-old Vogt was 0-for-25 last year for the Rays.
