Yanks' Kuroda exits with hand injury

New York Yankees pitcher Huroki Kuroda left Wednesday's start against the Boston Red Sox in the second inning after being struck by a line drive on his throwing hand.

Kuroda was removed after Shane Victorino's single to lead off the top of the second caught a piece of his right hand. Cody Eppley replaced the veteran hurler, who re-signed with the Yankees during the offseason after putting together a 16-11 record with a solid 3.32 earned run average during his first year with New York.

Eppley later forced in Victorino by hitting a batter with the bases loaded, enabling Boston to take a 2-0 lead.
