Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall likes to hold up Gonzaga as a template for building a mid-major program. He might as well hold up Zags coach Mark Few as a blueprint for staying put.

Marshall and Few are just two examples of how the coaching carousel of yesteryear has slowed down lately.

There were 51 coaching changes in men's Division I basketball last season, including 10 at BCS-member institutions, a three-year low and a drop from 57 changes the previous year. As of April 1, there had only been 31 changes this offseason, though Rutgers came open on Wednesday.

Marshall says it would take the right opportunity at the right time for him to leave Wichita State, with his team playing in the Final Four this weekend.
