Lionel Messi came out of Barcelona's Champions League quarterfinal at Paris Saint-Germain at the start of the second half Tuesday night after injuring his right hamstring.

Messi scored his 57th goal of the season in the 38th minute of the first-leg matchup, drifting into the left side of the penalty area and volleying past goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu off a pass from Dani Alves. It was Messi's 59th career Champions League goal, second only to the 71 by Raul Gonzalez.

Messi was replaced by Cesc Fabregas when the second half started.

"He will undergo further tests on Wednesday to determine the extent of the injury," Barcelona said on its Twitter feed.
