The Calgary Flames traded veteran defenseman Jay Bouwmeester to the St. Louis Blues on Monday.

In exchange for Bouwmeester, the Blues received a conditional first-round draft pick, defenseman Mark Cundari and goaltender Reto Berra. If the Blues reach the 2013 postseason, the first-round pick will come in this year's draft. Otherwise, the Flames will receive a 2013 fourth-round pick and a 2014 first-round selection.

In 750 career games, Bouwmeester, the third overall pick in the 2002 draft, has totaled 71 goals, 229 assists and 463 penalty minutes.

Cundari, 22, has scored seven goals with 18 assists in this his third season with Peoria of the AHL. Berra, 26, is currently playing in the Swiss A League.
