Orioles sign Freddy Garcia to minor league contract

Baltimore, MD – The Baltimore Orioles have signed veteran pitcher Freddy Garcia to a minor league contract.

Garcia, who was released by San Diego earlier this week, struggled this spring by posting a 1-4 mark with an 8.71 ERA in six starts for the Padres. He went 7-6 with a 5.20 ERA in 30 games (17 starts) for the New York Yankees last season.

In his 14-year major league career, the 36-year-old right-hander is 152-101 with a 4.15 ERA.
