Although they're playing poorly as of late, the Utah Jazz are still alive in the hunt for a playoff berth.
The Jazz will try to keep pace in the Western Conference when they host the Phoenix Suns Wednesday and look to make it two straight wins. The Jazz halted a four-game slide and won for just the third time in the previous 12 games with Monday's 107-91 triumph over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Randy Foye had 17 points and Gordon Hayward added 15 for Utah, which is even with Dallas at a game off the eighth and final postseason berth in the West, currently held by the Los Angeles Lakers. Derrick Favors had 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Al Jefferson, Enes Kanter and Alec Burks scored 12 points apiece.
"We're still in the playoff hunt ... so we had to get out to a great start," Jefferson said postgame.
Utah improved to 25-9 in Salt Lake City as opposed to its 10-27 road mark.
Meanwhile, the Suns have dropped four in a row since their big win at San Antonio Feb. 27 and went 1-3 on a recent homestand.
Phoenix suffered its third straight loss and seventh in eight tries with Sunday's 102-100 tough loss to the Brooklyn Nets. Goran Dragic had a season- high 31 points to go along with 12 assists and Wesley Johnson scored 21 points for the Suns, whose only win on the homestand came against the Lakers.
"We are of course disappointed because we lost, but if we can have that type of effort every single night we will take it," Suns coach Lindsey Hunter said. "We will take it and we will walk off the court with our heads high because we fought and that is the message. That is what we have to do every single night, every single practice, we have to fight."
Dragic recorded double digits in assists for the fifth game in a row.
The Suns are 6-12 since the All-Star break and 7-28 away from home. They have lost two of three meetings with Utah this season, but are still 8-3 in the past 11 matchups between the teams.
