Sarasota, FL – Baltimore Orioles designated hitter Wilson Betemit left Monday's spring training game against the Boston Red Sox with a right knee injury.
Betemit, who had a three-run homer and four RBI, left the game in the fifth inning. He was on first and running on a pitch to Manny Machado. Betemit stumbled along the basepaths and crumbled to the ground.
Betemit was carted off the field and put into a leg brace. He was diagnosed with a right knee ligament sprain and will be reevaluated further on Tuesday.
