George Mason is paying an exit fee of $1 million to leave the Colonial Athletic Association for the Atlantic 10.

The financial details of George Mason's move were revealed Monday by the CAA, which is losing one of its most high-profile members and will be down to nine schools in 2013-14.

GMU is leaving for the A-10 as of July 1, so the CAA has ruled that the school's seven spring sports teams will be ineligible for conference championships. In addition to the exit free, GMU will forfeit at least $1.65 in conference payouts.

GMU will join the Atlantic 10 in 20 of the school's 21 sports. Another home will be found for Mason's wrestling program.
