Todd Helton, Wilin Rosario and Josh Rutledge all homered off San Diego starter Freddy Garcia as the Colorado Rockies beat the Padres 10-4 on Saturday night.

A non-roster invitee to camp, the 36-year-old Garcia allowed seven runs — three earned — in five innings. His spring ERA dropped to 8.71, but the outing likely did little to help him gain ground on Tyson Ross in the competition for the final spot in the Padres' rotation.

Garcia said he will not accept a minor league assignment.

Six home runs were hit in the first five innings and seven in the game as hitters took advantage of a brisk wind blowing straight out at Salt River Fields.

Gustavo Molina added a three-run shot for Colorado.
