Pittsburgh's bounceback season ended with another early exit from the NCAA tournament, but coach Jamie Dixon believes the Panthers are heading in the right direction as they prepare for a move to the ACC.

Pitt (24-9) overcame a slow start in its final Big East season to finish fourth in the conference with a 12-6 mark. Freshman center Steven Adams showed significant promise late in the year and was the Panthers' best player in a 73-55 loss to Wichita State in the second round of the tournament on Thursday.

Adams says he will be back for his sophomore season and Dixon insists he'll stick around too. He has been rumored as a candidate for the open job at USC, but the coach says he has no plans on leaving.
