First-place Ducks roll into Minnesota

The Anaheim Ducks will have to wait another week before they get another chance at extending their franchise record-tying home winning streak.

In the meantime, they'll look to stop the Minnesota Wild's current run at home as the two clubs clash Tuesday evening.

The Ducks won for the 11th straight time at home on Sunday, using a three-goal third period to record a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Blues. Corey Perry scored twice in the frame, including an empty-net tally, while Bobby Ryan also had a goal in the third.

Ryan matched a career high by recording a point in a seventh straight game, posting three goals and eight points over that run.

Andrew Cogliano also scored, Francois Beauchemin added three assists and Jonas Hiller made 29 saves as the Ducks won their third straight. Anaheim is also 5-0-2 in its past seven, while the 18-3-3 start is the best in franchise history through 24 games.

"It feels good," Perry said of the win. "Everybody here knows what's going on and the role they're supposed to be playing."

The Ducks lead the Pacific Division with 39 points and will play their next three on the road. They'll aim for a 12th straight win at home when they host the San Jose Sharks on March 18.

First, Anaheim will try to deny Minnesota its fifth straight victory as the hosting club. The Wild opened a three-game residency on Sunday with a 4-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks, improving to 9-2-1 at home this season and 5-0-1 in the last six as the host.

Zach Parise scored a pair of goals, the first just 24 seconds into the game, and assisted on another, while Jared Spurgeon contributed a goal and an assist. Jason Zucker also tallied to help back up a solid 25-save effort from Niklas Backstrom.

Minnesota had a 3-0 lead less than five minutes into the second period and tied Vancouver atop the Northwest Division with 28 points.

"Our guys were ready for this one, for sure," Wild head coach Mike Yeo said. "We feel like we're a team that's on the up and going in the right direction, and we were looking forward to this chance."

Defenseman Ryan Suter had two assists, giving him eight points over a seven- game point streak.

The Wild have lost three in a row to the Ducks, including the first two of three meetings this season. Both of those defeats came in Anaheim, though Minnesota has followed up a five-game series home winning streak with back-to- back losses to Anaheim at Xcel Energy Center.
