Adam Wainwright struck out six in 4 2-3 innings and the St. Louis Cardinals blanked a Miami Marlins split squad 2-0 Saturday.

Wainwright gave up three hits and walked one. He had allowed eight hits and four earned runs over three innings in his previous spring outing.

Wainwright allowed a pair of Miami singles to start the game, then retired the next eight batters.

Marlins starter Jacob Turner pitched three scoreless innings, giving up two hits. He walked one and fanned two.

St. Louis scored off Turner's replacement, Chris Hatcher. Pete Kozma hit a two-run double in the fourth.

Cardinals left fielder Matt Holliday missed his third consecutive game because of a flulike virus.
