Tom Telesco made it clear that the San Diego Chargers won't be making a big splash during free agency.

The Chargers have plenty of work to do after missing the playoffs for the third straight year and firing coach Norv Turner and general manager A.J. Smith.

The Chargers new general manager comes in with a draft-driven philosophy he learned under former Colts GM Bill Polian, with free agency used to pluck players here and there.

Telesco says "there's a time and place" for diving into free agency, " but that time and place for is not this year."

Of the 19 Chargers set to become unrestricted free agents, many will be allowed to test the market.
