Negredo's hat trick helps Sevilla cruise against Celta

Alvaro Negredo's hat trick led Sevilla to a comfortable 4-1 win over Celta Vigo on Monday at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, the club's fourth victory in six matches.

It didn't take too long for Negredo to get going as he found the net for the first time after 12 minutes, scoring on the rebound from Jesus Navas' shot.

The second goal came under similar circumstances in the 29th minute when a low cross from the right wing was parried by Celta goalkeeper Javi Varas straight into the path of Negredo, who calmly dispatched the ball into the net.

Augusto Fernandez pulled Celta to within a goal five minutes before halftime, and it looked like the visitors were ready for a scrap after the break.

But Gary Medel restored Sevilla's two-goal advantage with a curling effort in the 66th minute that went in off the hands of Fernandez.

The win was secured just two minutes later when Negredo completed his hat trick with another rebound effort, this time hammering the loose ball into the lower corner of the net.

Celta Vigo has now lost four of its last five games to sit two points from safety, while Sevilla climbs 12 points above the relegation places.
