The Miami Heat's Erik Spoelstra and Lionel Hollins of the Memphis Grizzlies have been named the NBA's Eastern and Western Conference Coaches of the Month, respectively, for February.
Spoelstra garnered the award after guiding the Heat to a league-best 12-1 record. The Heat opened February with a 102-89 loss to the Pacers before closing the month on a 12-game winning streak, with nine of those wins coming by double digits.
Hollins and the Grizzlies closed the month on a winning streak of their own, reeling off eight straight victories to finish February with a Western Conference-best 9-2 mark.
Hollins and Spoelstra will put their respective winning streaks on the line Friday when the Heat and Grizzlies face off in Miami.
Other nominees for the award included Boston's Doc Rivers, Indiana's Frank Vogel, Oklahoma City's Scott Brooks and San Antonio's Gregg Popovich.
