Lazio netted two goals of real quality in the first half to secure a 2-0 win over Pescara at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday, moving the home side into third place in Serie A.

Stefan Radu opened his account in the 29th minute with a thunderous strike from just outside the penalty area that sailed past goalkeeper Ivan Pelizzoli and inside the near post.

Senad Lulic was not to be outdone and he scored on a similarly spectacular effort from 25 yards that struck the underside of the crossbar on its way into the net.

Pescara entered the match on a six-game winless streak, and the visitors had little chance of turning the game around. They were fortunate to lose by just two goals in the end with Lazio's Sergio Floccari twice going close for the hosts, who snapped a five-game winless run of their own.

Udinese 0, Napoli 0

Udine, Italy - Napoli fell a bit further off the pace of Serie A leaders Juventus as the club was only able to earn a 0-0 draw against Udinese at the Stadio Friuli.

Juve's 3-0 victory over Siena on Sunday, combined with Napoli's draw, leaves the Old Lady six points clear at the top of the league.

Neither side was at its attacking best on Monday, with Napoli's Edinson Cavani squandering one of the game's best chances in the 22nd minute when he fired wide from 10 yards.

Napoli put together a late rally in the final 20 minutes in an effort to claim all three points, but Udinese goalkeeper Daniele Padelli never looked worried and Napoli had to be content with extending its unbeaten streak to nine games.
