HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Jourdan DeMuyck scored 27 points and grabbed 11 boards to help Prairie View A&M turn an 11-point halftime deficit into a 61-57 overtime win against Alabama A&M Monday night.
Carl Blair scored 11 and Jules Montgomery added eight for Prairie View (13-16, 8-8 Southwestern Athletic Conference). The pair each grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Panthers to a 46-45 edge on the boards.
Prairie View trailed 35-24 at halftime but clawed back to send the game into overtime on Montgomery's tip-in with 34 seconds left.
DeMuynck and Montgomery combined for six points over the first 3 minutes of overtime but it was all Prairie View needed, as the Bulldogs managed just two free throws in the extra frame.
Prairie View shot 39 percent (26 of 67).
DeMarquelle Tabb tallied 13 points and 17 rebounds for the Bulldogs (9-18, 5-11), who went 19-of-57 shooting and 13 of 26 from the stripe.
