Carlos Santana and Ezequiel Carrera homered to help a Cleveland Indians split squad beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-4 on Sunday.
Mike Aviles and Cord Phelps added RBI singles for the Indians. Carlos Carrasco, who missed last season following Tommy John surgery, started and allowed four runs — three earned — on four hits and a walk in one inning.
Scott Kazmir and Trevor Bauer, also competing for spots at the back end of Cleveland's rotation, each pitched two scoreless innings.
Mark Rogers gave up two runs, two hits and three walks for the Brewers.
Santana tied the score at 4 in the third inning with his first home run. Carrera added a solo shot in the sixth.
