Lost in all of the MVP hype is San Antonio Spurs All-Star point guard Tony Parker.

While LeBron James and Kevin Durant garner most of the headlines for the prestigious award, the man behind the San Antonio curtain is Parker.

Parker will lead the Spurs into Oakland Friday night in a showdown with the Golden State Warriors. He is coming off a 31-point, seven-assist effort in Thursday's 116-90 shellacking of the Los Angeles Clippers and is averaging 29.3 ppg in his last six games with four 30-point performances.

"It's not just me, it's the whole team," Parker said. "The whole team played well. It was a great win for us and we are trying to stay on top of the standings."

Danny Green chipped in 15 points and seven assists, while Tiago Splitter and Manu Ginobili netted 10 points apiece for the Spurs, who shot 58.9 percent from the floor and got nine points and five boards from All-Star Tim Duncan.

San Antonio has won five in a row and 16 of 17 games, and is 6-1 so far on a nine-game rodeo road trip. The Spurs own the best record in the NBA and are 22-10 away from the Alamo City. They will close the trip Sunday at Phoenix.

In injury news for the Spurs, forward Kawhi Leonard (knee) missed the win over the Clippers and is questionable for Friday.

Golden State looks to string together consecutive wins and halted a six-game slide with Wednesday's 108-98 victory over the Suns.

Klay Thompson scored 21 of his 28 points in the first half and Jarrett Jack added 21 points for the Warriors. Stephen Curry compiled 20 points and 11 assists, and David Lee provided 19 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

"This is a game we should have won and we did win," Golden State coach Mark Jackson remarked. "And I like the fashion in which we did it."

Jackson's squad shot 48.3 percent for the game and made 10-of-20 3-pointers.

The Warriors will wear the first short-sleeved uniform of the modern era Friday.

After hosting the Spurs, Golden State will hit the road for five games against Minnesota, Indiana, New York, Boston and Philadelphia. Golden State dropped a 95-88 decision in San Antonio on Jan. 18 this season and have lost 16 in a row and 26 of the last 29 meetings between the Western Conference foes.

San Antonio is unbeaten in seven straight trips to Oakland.

The Warriors made a few moves before Thursday's trade deadline, sending guard Charles Jenkins and cash considerations to the 76ers in exchange for future draft considerations. They also shipped forward/center Jeremy Tyler and cash considerations to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for future draft considerations.
