Derek Jeter in New York. Victor Martinez in Detroit. Carl Crawford in Los Angeles.

All around baseball, division races may be decided not by offseason moves or midsummer surprises — but by how often teams can keep their top players on the field.

Jeter broke his left ankle in last year's AL championship series. Martinez missed the whole season after hurting his left knee. Crawford was traded to the Dodgers but hasn't played for them yet because of reconstructive elbow surgery.

With Jose Bautista and Troy Tulowitzki also on the list, you could put together a pretty good lineup just of players coming back from serious injuries.
