Freshman Jerome Hill had 18 points and 11 rebounds, posting his first career double-double, as Gardner-Webb overcame a 12-point deficit to defeat Winthrop 65-52 Tuesday night for its fourth straight win.

The Runnin' Bulldogs (17-11, 9-5 Big South Conference), who lost to the Eagles 61-55 on Jan. 23, trailed 30-18 with 2:42 to go until halftime.

Winthrop, playing its first game without leading scorer Derrick Henry (11.4 points per game), who suffered a season-ending knee injury Saturday against Presbyterian, still led 39-36 with 12:26 remaining.

Tyler Strange then hit a 3-pointer to tie it and spark an 8-0 run that pushed Gardner-Webb into the lead for good.

The Runnin' Bulldogs, whose winning streak is their longest this season, have won seven of their past eight.

Joab Jerome's 15 points led the Eagles (11-15, 5-9), who committed 12 second-half turnovers en route to losing for the fourth time in five games.
