Doug McDermott scored 21 points, passing 2,000 for his career, to lead Creighton to a 71-68 victory over Evansville on Saturday.

McDermott, a junior, reached the mark in his 101st game. He has 2,001 career points. He also had 10 rebounds as the Bluejays (21-6, 10-5 Missouri Valley) rallied from a 16-point deficit to end a three-game losing streak.

Evansville (14-13, 7-8) led 31-15 in the first half before Creighton came back to cut the lead to 36-31 at the break.

Austin Chatman had 12 points for the Bluejays, whose losing streak knocked them out of The Associated Press Top 25 and the MVC lead.

Ned Cox led the Purple Aces with 18 points. Colt Ryan had 13 points and 10 assists and Adam Wing scored 10 for Evansville, which has lost five of seven, with the only wins coming in overtime.
