The Green Bay Packers are reportedly set to release defensive back Charles Woodson.

NFL.com quoted Woodson's agent, Carl Poston, as saying the Packers are in the process of making the decision.

Woodson spent the past seven seasons with the Packers and was the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year in 2009 when he picked off nine passes and returned three for touchdowns.

The 36-year-old Michigan product played just seven regular-season games last year, missing the last nine while recovering from a collarbone injury. He returned for both of Green Bay's playoff games.

Woodson played his first eight seasons with Oakland after winning the Heisman Trophy in 1997. He has 55 career interceptions in 206 NFL games.
