The Toronto Maple Leafs announced on Tuesday that goaltender James Reimer will be out at least one week after suffering a medial collateral ligament sprain in his left knee.

Reimer was injured during the second period of Monday's 5-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, dropping to his knees in the crease after being caught up in a scramble near the goalmouth. He departed the game at the four-minute mark of the period and did not return.

The 24-year-old Manitoba native has gone 6-3-0 with a 2.31 goals-against average and one shutout in 10 appearances this season.

Ben Scrivens, who stepped in and made 32 saves in Monday's victory, will be elevated from backup status until Reimer's return.
