Columbus Blue Jackets reassign defenseman Nick Holden to Springfield, Mass., Falcons of AHL

The Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned defenseman Nick Holden to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.

Holden recorded 17:19 total ice time and had a plus-1 rating in two games with Columbus. He had four goals and 18 assists in 44 games with Springfield prior to his brief call-up due to injuries to veteran defensemen.

Holden was originally signed by the Blue Jackets as a free agent on March 28, 2008. The 6-foot-4, 207-pound blue-liner signed a one-year contract extension with Columbus in each of the past two summers.

He is scoreless in seven career NHL games.
