Dylan Royer scored a career-high 20 points and hit six 3-pointers, helping Cal Poly defeat UC Davis 68-53 Saturday night.

Royer was 6 for 11 from beyond the arc for the Mustangs (11-11, 7-5 Big West), who were 10 for 24 overall on 3-point attempts and earned a split in the season series with UC Davis (9-13, 5-6). Reese Morgan added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Ryan Sypkens nearly matched Royer, making 5 of 11 3s and scoring 17 points for the Aggies. Corey Hawkins scored 15 points and J.T. Adenrele had 10.

Royer hit a pair of 3s to cap a 13-0 run that put Cal Poly ahead 28-10 en route to a 37-20 halftime advantage. UC Davis got the deficit down to 12 early in the second half before a Morgan 3-pointer started a 7-1 Mustangs run.

UC Davis was gunning for the 1,000th victory in the program's 101-year history.
