Mark Nwakamma scored 23 points as Hartford defeated Stony Brook 60-55 Sunday for their first win over the Seawolves in their last 10 meetings.

The Hawks (14-10, 7-4 America East) erased a 39-30 second-half deficit with an 11-0 run. John Peterson, Nate Sikma and Evan Cooper hit 3-pointers and Nwakamma's jumper with 15:01 remaining gave Hartford the lead.

Stony Brook (17-6, 8-2) led once more, 45-44 with 8:49 left, but two layups and a 3-pointer by Nwakamma and a jumper by Yolonzo Moore II put Hartford in front to stay in a game postponed from Saturday because of the winter storm in the Northeast.
