Lyon, France – Lyon's title challenge took a hit on Sunday as the club suffered a 3-1 home defeat against mid-table Lille, leaving them six points adrift of Ligue 1 leaders PSG.
The capital club was able to secure a 3-1 win over Bastia on Friday, leaving title challengers Lyon and Marseille to keep up on Sunday.
But both clubs failed to claim three points as Lyon lost at the Stade de Gerland, while third-place Marseille was held to a 1-1 draw at Evian.
The opening goal arrived for Lille midway through the first half as a corner kick was played into the area by Dimitri Payet, allowing Aurelien Chedjou to turn a header past goalkeeper Remi Vercoutre.
Lille doubled its lead just before halftime through Florent Balmont, and it became 3-0 to the visitors shortly after the break when Milan Bisevac was called for handling the ball inside his own penalty area, allowing Salomon Kalou to convert from the spot.
Lisandro Lopez scored from the penalty spot for the home side seven minutes later, but there was no way back for Lyon.
Marseille could have moved level with Lyon had the club collected three points at Evian, but instead a terrible final 35 minutes forced the visitors to settle for a point.
Andre-Pierre Gignac put Marseille in front in the 50th minute, but things went downhill quickly as Kassim Abdallah was sent off seven minutes later, leading to a successful penalty kick for Yannick Sagbo which leveled the match.
Jordan Ayew's red card 15 minutes from time reduced Marseille to nine men, but they managed to hold out for a point.
Sunday's other contest saw Rennes score two goals in the final 11 minutes to top Toulouse, 2-0, as Romain Alessandrini and Mevlut Erding were on target for Rennes to move the club into fifth place.
