Dylan Talley had 16 points and Nebraska pulled away from Penn State early in the second half to take a 67-53 win Saturday night.

Nebraska (12-12, 3-8 Big Ten) opened the second half with an 12-2 spurt that put the Cornhuskers up 41-26 on David Rivers' free throws with 16:50 left.

Penn State (8-15, 0-11 Big Ten), which went nearly 7 minutes without a field goal to open the second half, cut the Nebraska lead to 52-40 on D.J. Newbill's layup with 6:50 left. Talley's 3-pointer and a Brandon Ubel free throw put Nebraska back up 16 with 5:32 left. Penn State got no closer than 12.

Nebraska made 32 of 41 free throws in the foul-plagued game that saw 51 fouls called on the two teams. Penn State hit 23 of 32 free throws.

Ubel had 14 points for Nebraska and Ray Gallegos had 11.
