Larry Nance Jr. had 17 points and 15 rebounds, and Wyoming pulled away late for a 61-53 victory against Cal State Bakersfield on Wednesday night.

Derek Cooke Jr. added 12 points and 13 rebounds Jason McManamen 10 points for the Cowboys (16-6), who have struggled in Mountain West play but went unbeaten against non-conference foes for the first time since 1987-88.

Cal State Bakersfield (8-15) clawed out of a big first-half hole and trailed 54-50 with 1:28 remaining but missed its next three shots from the floor. Meanwhile, Wyoming went 9 of 11 from the free-throw line to pad its cushion.

Stephon Carter had 20 points and eight rebounds and Adam Young 12 points for the Roadrunners, who trailed 27-13 at the break after shooting just 13.6 percent (3 of 22) from the floor in the first half.

The Cowboys finished 14-0 outside the Mountain West this season, including a 63-49 win against Cal State Bakersfield in Laramie on Nov. 24.
