Baylor kept a firm hold at the top of the Associated Press women's college basketball poll.

The Lady Bears are the top-ranked team for the fifth straight week, receiving 37 first-place votes and a total of 997 points from a nationwide media panel for the second week in a row.

Notre Dame remained second and Connecticut again held onto the third spot. The Huskies picked up the remaining three first-place votes. Stanford, Duke and California kept their places from fourth through sixth.

Maryland moved up three spots to seventh, followed by Penn State, Georgia and Kentucky. Georgia vaulted four places from 13th after a 75-71 win at Kentucky on Sunday. The Wildcats slipped two places from eighth.

The second 10 consists of Louisville, Tennessee, Purdue, Texas A&M, South Carolina, North Carolina, UCLA, Dayton, Florida State and Delaware. Tennessee was ninth and lost twice in three games last week, falling to Notre Dame on Monday and at Missouri on Sunday.

Colorado, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Syracuse and Iowa State are the last five teams ranked this week. Syracuse, ranked for the first time in two years, is the lone newcomer, replacing Iowa.
